Subject: update on little Ben
Hello
everyone…
Jeffrey
and I just wanted to send an update
on our little Benjamin’s progress. We
went to see him last night (Saturday) and he looked good.
He had had two good nights and days and when we called this morning, they
told us that they had actually taken him off 2 of his heart medications and
lowered his dosage on one of his kidney medications.
This afternoon they put a temporary “shunt” in his foot so they can
begin taking blood from there and administering medications through there
instead of constantly trying to find more veins in his arms and feet – his
little veins keep blowing and this “shunt” should take care of that.
We
went to “tuck him in” and say goodnight tonight and the nurse said he was
still doing well. They had even
taken out his catheter and he’s peeing into his diaper now!! We are hopeful
that he will continue to progress in this positive way…but he still is not out
of the woods yet. We are all longing
to hold him and I am just longing to hear him cry…(I’m sure he’ll do
enough of his share of that eventually…)

doing…whatever it is – it seems to be helping little Ben.
